It was another beautiful day Monday with temperatures in the high 80’s. A light overcast moved in over the afternoon along with some gusty winds but it was actually kind of nice as it cooled things off just a bit. It was still great for swimming and lounging around so that’s what I did most of the day.
Paulette decided it was time for her to get a haircut so she headed off to Palm Desert, with Sandy, about 10am. I was quite surprised when they both arrived back at the park just after 1pm as I thought they’d be gone for most of the day.

This morning, I took Molly and Rylie up to the first wash again to check out the Night Blooming Cereus that I talked about in yesterday’s blog. The story of this plant is that the blooms only last for one day and then that’s it for another year. Sure enough, that’s right! The blooms were pretty much shriveled up and it was easy to see that by the end of the day they’d be gone.
Even though the bloom is gone from the Night Bloom, there are lots of other wildflowers already taking their place in the desert near here.
The other day, while driving back from Palm Desert, I took a back road rather than the freeway and ran across several areas that were just loaded with desert wildflowers. Unfortunately, I don’t know the names of any of these flowers and although I like to take pictures of them, I’m not all that into finding out what they are – they’re just flowers!!
All in all, it was a very quiet Monday. We barbequed hamburgers for dinner last night so that was good. After dinner, we took the muttzo’s for a walk around the park and noticed that quite a few new RV’ers moved in over the weekend. I’m thinking it’s probably folks who are in transit to their home base from places like Arizona and maybe even Mexico.
After the walk, we just came back to our RV, spent some time on our computers, watched a bit of TV and then called it a night.
Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!
