First, congratulations to the Bayfield Bunch for making it home safely and getting across the border and back into Canada trouble free. It didn’t take Al and Kelly long to hit a Tim Horton’s for a “couple pails full” of coffee and a “big apple fritter….with a caramel filling”. Sure sounds good to me!! Thanks Al, for 5 months of great stories and entertainment, I enjoyed all of your blogs and will always remember your battle of wits with the ranch donkeys as well as many other memorable moments.
This little bird sat on our kitchen skylight for quite a while yesterdayWe have a very nice skylight in our kitchen, and this afternoon, a bird which I think is a dove, landed on it and stayed there for about 15 minutes without ever moving. I thought for sure when I walked over to get my camera off the table it would fly away before I could get a picture, but it never budged.
This Sands RV Resort pond is fed by underground wells and is used for irrigation
Paulette and her Quilting Club friends went off on their final fling of the year yesterday. I guess there were 5 of them in a van and they left the park at 9:30am and headed west on a shop hop of Quilt Stores along the I-10. They must have had a great time as Paulette didn’t get back until just before 6pm. She had a bag full of stuff, but I’ve learned not to even ask questions like “what did you buy?” or “how much?” – it’s too late anyway!
There are many nice, scenic areas in, and around, this large pondThe desert wind returned Thursday and blew pretty hard from about noon on so it wasn’t a great day for going to the pool. Instead, I just did some computer stuff this afternoon and reorganized some Picasa folders and backups etc. I’m sure glad I bought that 1TB external hard drive before we left this year as my laptop HD would be a mess by now.
The pond is also a popular spot for many ducks and birdsWhile browsing around today, I did manage to see a rumour that Microsoft may be releasing a new version of its Live Writer blogging software on May 1st. As usual, everything’s a big secret but one story goes that they just might activate an action that is now grayed out under the ‘Save draft’ options. That would then allow bloggers to ‘Post draft and edit online’ instead of the current ‘Post draft to blog’ only.
We are already looking ahead to backing onto a wash similar to this one next yearRight now in LW, you can set your post to be automatically saved to your HD at whatever interval you choose. Or, you can as I do occasionally, when writing my post, click on ‘Save Draft’ and then ‘‘Post draft to blog’ which copies my post to the Blogger server. The new option, I believe, would allow us to edit our blogs right from the Blogger server – that would be a nice improvement. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what develops in May sometime.
We’re off for a barbeque to Gary and Sandy’s on Friday night so we’re both looking forward to that. Unfortunately, they will be leaving here on the 29th and going to Sedona, AZ before heading home to Vancouver Island. Time is still just flying by!
Have a great Friday, and thanks again for visiting!
