Molly Gets A Much Needed Grooming

I seem to have missed a day somewhere, so I’ll just start with Thursday and see where that leads.  Paulette took Molly to the “Posh Pup” in Desert Hot Springs Thursday morning for a badly needed grooming job.  Poor Molly’s fur was really thick and the 90 degree temperatures we’ve had the last few days were really getting to her.

This is Molly before Paulette took her to her to the groomersIMG_5718

Paulette took Molly in to the groomer’s for her appointment at 10:30am.  It was 3pm before we picked Molly up and did she ever look a lot better, and cooler too!  She looked like she had lost 20bs, if only it was that easy for humans!!  No one was happier to see Molly that little Rylie! It’s the first time Molly has been away from Rylie that long and Rylie was out of sorts all day.

Here’s Molly after her $50 grooming!  Hey, I only paid $10 for a haircut!!IMG_5744

After we got home from the groomers, we got busy in earnest for a small barbeque we were having.  We had invited our friends from back home, Gary and Sandy, over as they will be leaving here on March 29th.  Paulette said it was going to be an extremely simple dinner – beef tenderloin steaks, potato salad, corn on the cob, bean salad and strawberry shortcake for desert.  Somehow, that seems more than just a ‘simple dinner’ to me, but simple or not, it was just excellent.

It was a pretty nice evening so we were able to sit outside until 8pm before it started to cool down a bit.  By then, we were all ready to call it a night anyway, so Gary and Sandy headed off to their site while Paulette and I went back inside to clean things up a bit and then work on our computers for a while before heading off to bed.

For all of you Passport America members who also own an iPhone or an iTouch, here’s an app you might like – a free Passport America Park Locator.  Thursday morning, I received an email from Passport America’s Campground Director, Tiffany Ingram, letting me know about this new app as I had blogged about the iTouch.  The promo states that “we consider our application to be the best interactive camping directory of its kind. Once again, it’s always interesting, and surprising, to know that others are reading our blogs.

The Mojave Desert with a mountain range in Joshua Tree NPIMG_5712

I actually found some wild desert flowers on Friday morning and they were a lot closer to our RV Park than Joshua Tree NP which I visited on Wednesday.  I was driving east down Dillon Rd. to go to the RV store to pick up a few things and there they were – right in the desert off the side of the road.  I stopped and took a bunch of pictures that I’ll post in an upcoming blog.

Here’s just one as an example:

Have a great Saturday, and thanks again for visiting!
