The Weekend...

Very sad news from Shiloh as we said good-bye to adopted and boarded horse, Trooper, who had to be euthanised at the vet clinic after a pasture accident. Trooper, who was renamed Xanthos by his adoptive owner, Vic, was found early on Saturday morning in his pasture standing on three legs. We don't know what happened to him, there was not any outward sign of trauma but he could not bear weight on his one hind leg. He was immediately driven into the clinic where his injury proved to be to extensive for hope of recovery. Little Xanthos was brought back to Shiloh where he was buried. Vic loved Xanthos so very much and took such great care of him and this is a devastating event for all of the Shiloh Family. Xanthos enjoyed his years hanging out in the pasture with his pals and exploring the ranch with Vic. Rest in peace, little guy.

Xanthos and Vic last summer at Shiloh...

Vic and Xanthos soon after their adoption.

It was a subdued day after that as we all worked to get the chores done.

Robin and Daisy taught a young volunteer how to groom...

Lovely had her sinus flushed out again.

Okay Corral.

Hammie Davis, Jr enjoyed a nice mud bath...

Sabine worked with Frost.

Then City Slicker...

And finally Sully. All three horses will be looking for new homes and we are currently working on their adoption videos.
