Centralia, Washington

Finally, off to Arizona! We left home at 6:15am this morning and caught the 7:40am ferry to Tswassen. From there, it was on to the border, at 11:00am, to find there was absolutely no wait - drove right up to the customs booth. However, we did have to pull over and watch while the border guards inspected our fifth wheel for restricted food items. In all, they ended up confiscating 1 apple, 2 garlic cloves and worst of all, Mo & Molly's dog cookies. The whole process took about 30 minutes so it wasn't bad at all.

We then drove down I-5 towards Seattle and decided to take the I-405 bypass around the city. The freeway goes through Bellevue, Redmond and Renton before hooking back up with the I-5 just north of Tacoma. It takes about the same amount of time as going right through Seattle but it sure is a much easier drive. After that, it was a straight run down to Centralia and we pulled into the Midway RV Park just after 3:00pm. What a nice park! All paved roads and a paved site with full hook-ups, cable tv and wifi. It's a nice quiet location well off the freeway too.

My new LG GPS unit worked great. Arriving in Centralia, the "voice" directions took us right to the front door of the RV Park - no problems at all.

Paulette went to check out the Outlet Mall - about 5 minutes from our RV Park. Other than that, it's going to be a quiet, and early, night here. Tomorrow, we will be stopping off at the Seven Feather's RV Park and Casino in Canyonville. Paul and Marleen are going to meet us there so we can head over the Siskiyou's together on Friday morning.
