Palm Springs/Palm Desert and Outdoor Market

Bright and early this morning, Paulette, Tom, Donna, myself, Mo and Molly all piled into the truck and we drove over to Palm Desert, about 15 minutes away, to check out the Outdoor Market held each weekend at the College of the Desert. Paulette rates it an 'A' as far as shopping goes so it must be good. There are close to 400 different shops and stalls selling every kind of merchandsie imaginable - all brand new stuff, good quality and reasonably priced. Tom bought an Australian type hat while Paulette and Donna also found a few bargains.

Mo and Molly were real big hits at the market. It was amazing how many people stopped to ask us what kind of dogs they were. Mo was especially popular, and luckily, he was on his best behaviour. Everyone was petting him and he didn't growl, bark, lunge or bite anybody. He was even nice to other dogs who were walking around - maybe Mo just likes the desert! Molly was too interested in food on the ground to care that Mo was getting all the attention!

Afterwards, we took the long way back to the RV Resort and drove through the downtown area of Palm Springs. The main street features a lot of restaurants, small shops, coffee joints and lots and lots of specialty stores. Paulette and Donna were amazed at all the shopping centres we drove by going to and from the Outdoor Market - I know we'll be going back to a few of those places for sure.

It was another picture perfect day here in Desert Hot Springs. This afternoon, Paulette and I took turns going to the pool for a swim and spa. One of us stayed back at our campsite with Mo and Molly as they naturally aren't allowed in the pool area and it was too hot to leave them alone in the 5th wheel.

Tom and Donna came over around 5:00pm and we barbequed rib-eye steaks and baked potatoes. After dinner, I setup our little propane campfire and we sat outside in t-shirts and shorts until well after dark as it was still quite warm.

Later, Paulette and I watched another movie - "3:10 to Yuma" and then called it a day - another great day here in the desert.
