It was another beautiful day here in Desert Hot Springs so we decided we would revisit the Outdoor Market in Desert Sands and then take a drive up the Pines to Palms Highway south of Palm Springs.

The Outdoor Market was every bit as busy today as it was the first time we went to it about 3 weeks ago with Tom and Donna. We spent about an hour and a half walking around just browsing the booths and displays. Mo and Molly came with us and they were the stars of the show. About a dozen people stopped and asked what kind of dogs they were because they thought they were so cute. Mo is really getting used to this and seems to like it as he just walks up to people and lets them pat him and talk to him. Molly is her usual self and tries to hog all the attention when anyone is paying too much attention to Mo.

After leaving the Market, we drove south on Monterey Ave. until it turned into Highway 74 - the Palms to Pines Highway. Quickly, the road narrowed to 2 lanes with a very steep, winding ascent up into the hills towards Santa Rosa Mtn.

At the lookout near the top, the view of the entire Coachella Valley was pretty spectacular. We were looking north towards Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, Rancho Mirage and all the other towns in the valley. It was the exact opposite view of the one we had a few weeks ago from Joshua Tree NP on the north side of Palm Springs.

On the way back down the mountain, Paulette spotted a couple of garage sales so we stopped and she found a few bargains. Eventually, we made our way back to our site at Sands RV park in time to go for swim in the pool - the temperature was around 84F today so it was just perfect - same temp as the pool!
We've been watching a movies for the last few nights including American Gangster starring Denzell Washington and Michael Clayton starring George Clooney. Tonight the main feature is Gone Baby Gone!
