In the NY Times, recently, there was an article indicating that researchers at Harvard Medical School , along with the National Institute on Aging, have discovered a natural substance in red wine, “resveratrol,” that can offset the bad effects of a poor diet in mice, and it evidently increases their lifespan as well. The belief is that if it will have similar effects on humans, it could help to offset the rising cases of obesity in the United States .
I’m not a big drinker, but I do like a glass of something festive here and there, and I do enjoy a good glass of red wine. So that’s good news indeed…

“Wine is the most healthful and most hygienic of beverages.” (-Louis Pasteur)
I’ll drink to that!
