We arrived at Rolling Hills Casino RV Park in northern California early this afternoon after a liesurely five hour drive from Canyonville, Oregon. The skies were somewhat cloudy but it was quite warm so there was no snow at all even on top of the Siskiyou Summit. We just took our time and enjoyed the scenery along the way. One of the stops was near Mt. Shasta.

We heard on the radio that I-5 had been closed near Centrailia, Wa. because of flooding. Sounds like we really dodged a bullet as we stayed there Tuesday night. Sure glad we left home on the 6th and not the 7th as we had originally planned or we would have been stuck in Centrailia probably right through the weekend. No day is complete it seems without at least one stop at an Outlet Mall(or any Mall for that matter). This one is just south of Redding:

By the time we arrived at Rolling Hills, the skies had cleared and it was sunny and warm. It didn't take long to set up the fifth wheel as I was able to leave it hithched to the truck as the site was perfectly level.
Tonight, Paulette and I went over to the Casino for the buffet and it was every bit as good as we remembered from last year. Even better, it was 2 for 1 night, so it only cost $7.50 each - pretty good for a first-class buffet!Tomorrow, we go through Sacramento and then right down I-5 all the way to Bakersfield and the Orange Grove RV Park - one of our favourites. We are already looking forward to fresh oranges right from the trees!
