Palm Springs - Feb. 5-7

Our run of near perfect weather came to a halt today, or rather overnight, as it actually rained here for a few hours and there are still lot's of clouds around this morning. It is also noticably cooler than it's been - about 18C and that feels quite cold when compared to the usual 25-30C. No swimming today that's for sure! I checked the weather forecasts this morning and it's supposed to be overcast with a few showers and cooler through tomorrow and then it looks like a return to the normal sunshine and hot weather - we hope so!

We have some company here in the RV park - Gary and Sandy Lowery, friends from Duncan, B.C., arrived a few days ago and are here, with their little dog Molly, for a month.

From Palm Springs - Feb. 5-7

Gary's a golfer, so he's already been out on the golf course to try it out. We've spent the last few days just hanging around the park - except for yesterday. Paulette and I decided to leave Mo and Molly "home alone" while we went into Palm Desert to do some shopping. Paulette visited a few of her "thrift store" haunts from last year while I checked out Costco and Lowe's. We were gone about 3 hours and when we got back both Mo and Molly were just fine - it looked like they'd both been sleeping. We'll probably do this a bit more often from now on.

Paulette and Sandy, using the weather as an excuse, took off down the I-10 this morning headed for the huge Outlet Mall just outside of Banning - about 20 minutes away. I took Gary for a ride into downtown Palm Springs as he hasn't been down that way yet. We then drove the length of Hi-way 111 which winds through many of the smaller communities in the Palm Springs area(i.e. Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Cathedral City etc.).

So, today looks to be a very quiet day here while we wait for the clouds to clear away and for the sunshine to return.

It's 3:00pm and all is well - the sun has returned and the skies are clearing, so it looks like we are returning to normal!
