The Palm Springs Follies

Now that the hot, sunny weather has returned, we've become 'Park Rats' only venturing out for groceries and other required supplies. It's really been nice here that last few days as the temperatures are back into the mid 20C's with absolutely no wind. So, we've spent most of our time either by the pool, sitting outside reading or, in Paulette's case, working on beads, necklaces and bracelets etc.

However, tonight, Paulette, Donna, Diana, Sandy and Tom went into downtown Palm Springs to see the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies at the Plaza Theatre. This live show is described as "a world-famous, Broadway-caliber celebration of the music, dance, and comedy of the 30's, 40's, and 50's with a cast old enough to have lived it!"

It's pretty much a sell-out every night - but when your celebrities, you get the best seats in the house!!

The star of the show was Susan Anton, a singer/actress, who used to be sort of famous for something but I can't remember what.

Paulette said the show was fantastic and that everybody really enjoyed it. The Plaza Theatre, where the show was staged, was originally built in the 1930's and was restored to it's original status in the early 90's when the Follies began playing.

Tomorrow night, of course, is the big Oscar extravaganza, so everyone will be watching that - probably up at the clubhouse.
