Our small pond needed a bit of attention, so Paulette busied herself with that and a few dozen small plants and flowers – none of which I happen to know the name of.
My job was cutting the front and back lawns, as well as organizing our storage shed. I still don’t know how that shed gets to be such a mess each spring especially since we don’t use it all winter. One of those eternal mysteries I guess.By the time we decided to call it quits for the day, my utility trailer was overflowing with grass, weeds, tree cuttings and other garden debris. So, I decided it would be as good a day as any to take a drive out to the municipal Refuse Transfer Station at Bing’s Creek which is about a 20 minute drive from our house.
The great thing about taking a trailer full of garden refuse to the transfer station is its free! No charges for dumping yard and garden stuff – its about the only thing that is free anymore.
After I got back from getting rid of all the stuff in the trailer, it was 3:30pm and I was pretty worn out. So, I just grabbed my book, a Coke Zero, put my feet up and read for a bit. Paulette was taking a short nap as she was really tired from all the work she did.For dinner, Paulette tried a new curried chicken recipe that was just excellent. Later, we took Molly for a walk, and then come back home and watched a movie. Not too bad a day after all.
