RV Travel Blogs - A Great Way to Start the Day!

It’s been about a week now since I launched our first RV Travels blogsite and already it has turned out to be quite a rewarding, and surprising, experience. True, I’m still feeling my way here and sometimes wonder what I should, or should not, be posting about. Is it going to be interesting to anyone – or will it just look dumb?? Do all topics have to be just about RV’ing?? What then, do I write about, when I’m home for a while and not out on the road?

These are just a few of the questions, which I guess, had made me shy away from creating a blog in the first place – like, who cares what I’m doing or thinking? Then, after my very first post, while I was pondering this dilemma, I received this “comment” from “Jerry and Suzy” who said “As long as you make this blog interesting to yourself, then it will be interesting to others as well.” That was great advice and made me feel a whole lot better every time I sat down at my computer to post anything.

Why has this turned out to be not only a rewarding experience, but also surprising? Because, for whatever reason, I never realized that there were so many other RV’ers out there who share the same interests as me and are simply willing to share their stories and experiences about both times on the road and at home.

Before last week, my main enjoyment in the morning was getting up early, grabbing a cup of coffee, and heading to my computer to check out the news headlines to see what had happened overnight while I was sleeping. I usually spent about an hour or so doing this and learned more about disasters and wrongdoing than I really needed to know. I also found out which of my favourite sports teams had lost their games the previous night!

It’s a bit different now. Sure, I still check out the news every morning – but mainly to make sure that the world isn’t facing some new disaster. After that, I head right to my blogsite to check out what’s new on the travel blogs I’m following. I now have about a dozen RV travel blogs that I follow on a regular basis and I really look forward to checking them out to see if any new posts have been made overnight! As time goes by, I'm sure I'll be adding lots more sites to my reading list.

So, I’m glad I listened to the advice to simply make the blog “interesting to yourself” because it’s sure a lot easier than trying to please everyone else – after all, who can possibly do that anyway?
