Don't Leave Your Old Boots Out

We're having a big family barbeque at our house this coming Sunday, so yesterday I got busy replacing a set of stairs that goes from our deck down to the sidewalk. When I built these stairs they were meant to be temporary - but that was 12 years ago! The top stair, on the right side, has worked loose from the deck and the whole thing was kind of rickety - so, they're toast. A nice outside job for a beautiful Monday morning!

Time to get rid of these old "temporary" stairs!


I never know what I'm going to find in the gardens and flower beds in our backyard. Paulette has a habit of using a lot of different stuff to decorate - pots, pans, cement leaves, old doors, wooden wheelbarrows etc. etc. and, I just discovered - my old work boots!!

These were great work boots at one time!

I still have one very nice pair of tan hiking boots in my closet - I'm going to be hiding them until I need them after seeing what's happened to my previous boots!
