One Month to Go Until Erin's Wedding

Exactly one month from today, July 25th, our daughter Erin, will be marrying her fiance, Rhett Whaley, at their home in Blairmore, Alberta. Blairmore is located in the Crows Nest Pass and is only about 20 minutes from the B.C. border. They chose Alberta as the location for their wedding as Rhett's family lives in Manitoba and Blairmore is situated about halfway between his family and us out here on the west coast. It's perfect as we now get to take our 5th wheel on a road trip this summer.

Erin and Rhett actually live in Calgary, AB where they own a condo. Erin teaches at a local Elementary School and Rhett works as a computer Systems/Analyst and Java developer. They bought a small 2 bedroom house in Blairmore about 2 years ago as a place to get away from the city and to give them a chance to enjoy one of their favorite pastimes - skiing and snowboarding. Blairmore has a ski hill right in town and is close to several other excellent ski resorts.

This getaway home is also a great place for their dog Lola, a 2 year old Goldendoodle, as it gives her space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. During the week, Lola is in the condo of course, but Erin and Rhett have a great dog walker who picks Lola up each morning and takes her for a 2 hour walk with a half-dozen other dogs she looks after.

As Blairmore is only 2 hours from Calgary, its an easy drive on weekends and in the summertime Erin can spend as much time there as she wants as school is out. Rhett alternates between commuting from Blairmore and staying at their condo in the summer depending on his work schedule.

Lost Lemon RV Park in Blairmore, Alberta

Another advantage of Blairmore is that it has a great little RV Park for us to stay with our 5th wheel - the Lost Lemon RV Park. It is located right on the banks of the Crowsnest River, has a swimming pool, and is a very popular place to stay. We are booked into the park for a week prior to the wedding and for 5 days after. We are going to turn our trip home into an extended holiday either down through the U.S. or back through the Okanagan in B.C.

So, our summer looks to be an exciting one - we can't wait to hitch up and get back on the road again.
