Well, it's Wednesday morning and the wedding is now only a few days away. So, Paulette and the girls have been very busy working on all their "crafty" projects for the big day. Remember those "paper mache" balloons I posted pics of a while ago? Just a bunch of old newspapers wrapped in a ball right? Well, look at them now.

They are just about ready to hang on the Shepherd Hooks that will line the aisle Erin will walk down on her wedding day. A few pics of the final process for making these are shown in the slideshow above.

Before the flower balloons, everyone was busy making a special gift for each of the wedding guests. They are little clay pots filled with "chicks and hens". Each of the 100 little pots had to be filled with dirt, planted with the "chicks and hens" and then tied with raffia. These little flower pots will sit at each place setting for the dinner for each guest to take home as a memento - just something a little different!

One of the projects still in progress is the "Wedding Arbour" that will form the backdrop for the actual wedding ceremony. Paulette, Erin and Hayley spent a good hour or so Monday night trying out different color combination's and materials to see which worked best. They eventually settled on on a plan and picked up the material they needed last night when they drove into Calgary to pick up our daughter Maggie, who was flying in from Vancouver, B.C.

Maggie wasn't due to arrive in Calgary until 9:30pm and it's only a 2 hour drive from Blairmore to the airport. But Paulette, Erin and Hayley left at 1:00pm saying they had a "few things" to pick up in the big city. That left Rhett, Mikayla(who wisely opted for swimming instead) and me, plus the dogs, to hold down the fort until everyone arrived back home.
They told me this trip was going to be all fun and games?

Even our granddaughter Mikayla wasn't exempt from being put to work. She was setup on a die-cutter with multi-colored sheets of card stock cutting out different size circles. Instead of the bride walking down the aisle on "rose petals", these circles will be scattered to simulate the roses. Now, who thinks of these things?

The final craft project worked on Monday night was to take 4 to 5 sprigs of Lavender, from the Kelowna lavender farm, and tie a black silk bow around them. These Lavender sprigs will be placed on the dinner napkins at each place setting for the reception after the wedding. With that complete, Monday's crafty ideas finally came to an end - at least for that day!

Mikayla, me and the dogs all hung out at Rhett's last night. We really lived it up by ordering a couple of large pizzas for dinner. Molly and Rylie are happy here just roaming around in the fenced backyard with Lola. Lola is 2 1/2 yrs. old and is the friendliest, gentlest dog you could ever come across - and, she just loves playing with Rylie.
Just after 10:00pm, Mikayla, me and the pups left Rhett's and came back to our RV Park. Erin dropped Paulette off at 12:30am after the drive back from Calgary. Today, it's back to work with whatever projects are left to do.
