The Canada Geese are Heading South

In a sure sign that Fall is almost here, Canada Geese are heading south on their annual winter migration. We seem to be right on the flight path of some of them, so Paulette had her camera ready and captured a few of them in flight just the other day. Lucky Geese – we don’t leave for southern California for another 3 1/2 months!

It was a very typical Saturday for us. Paulette left for Victoria on her weekly garage sale/shopping excursion while I stayed home with Molly and Rylie. Our main task today was loading up the truck with green garbage bags again and taking them all to the local transfer station. It’s not that exciting to me – but, Molly and Rylie just love it even though they never get any closer to the garbage than just sticking their heads out of the truck windows.

On the way back home from the transfer station, the highway goes right by one of our local golf courses – Duncan Meadows. It was a near perfect day – 80F and not a cloud in the sky. As you might imagine, the golf course was very busy with golfers happily taking advantage of the great weather.

Paulette arrived home just after 2:00 but didn’t have any great bargains to speak of today – just a few small items. Maybe the ‘garage sale’ season is coming to an end for the year! I don’t even know if there actually is a season or not.

We still had quite a bit of Chinese Food left over from last night, so that was our quick and easy Saturday night dinner! It’s great when we can get two meals out of one dinner – whether or not we make it ourselves or it’s a takeout – sure saves a lot of work.
