We received an email message yesterday from the folks at the Sands RV & Golf Resort, in Desert Hot Springs, letting us know that they have completed all of the renovations undertaken to upgrade facilities at the resort. That’s terrific news for us, as we have a 3 month reservation there beginning in January, 2010 – our 3rd consecutive year staying at the Sands RV Resort.

The poolside restrooms have also been completely remodeled – they look to be a big improvement over the old washrooms.

New owners took over the RV Resort just prior to our arrival last January. Immediately, we noticed that a lot of work was being undertaken to upgrade the facilities. It seemed that landscapers and groundskeepers were at work all over the park. We were really encouraged to see this as we love both the RV Park and the entire area of Desert Hot Springs/Palm Springs.

Last April, just before we left for home, we filled out a questionnaire, from the owners, asking us “what would be your number 1 priority to improve the resort? Our answer was easy – completely rebuild the aging washroom & shower building. And, that is exactly what they did – including new showers, toilets, partitions, counters, flooring and wall-coverings. In fact – new everything!!

There’s even something new for Molly and Rylie – our pups! Fences now enclose the very large dog park and, this is really neat - a dog-bathing area has been added as well as a water station. The new picnic tables will allow us to sit and watch while the dogs run around and play.

So, Paulette and I were thrilled to see the results of the renovations – especially the showers and washrooms. It is great to see the new owners putting money into the resort rather than simply letting it fall into a state of disrepair, as so many others have done.
We are now looking forward more than ever to hitting the road on January 1, 2010 and heading down to the Sands RV & Golf Resort for our winter vacation in this beautiful park.
