I got off to a rather slow start yesterday by not getting out of bed until 7:30am – an hour later than usual. Must have been because I was reading an Ebook until close to midnight on Friday trying to finish it. I never made it though and still had about a hundred pages to go which I managed to get through last night.
The left over fir boughs – no worries at all about running out!Last Sunday, when Paulette and I went out looking for fir boughs to make Christmas Wreaths, she was a bit worried that we may not have collected enough. That worry turned out to be groundless as we only used a little over half of what we gathered. So, once again, hopefully for the last time this year, I had to hook up the utility trailer, load in the fir boughs and haul them over to the recycling depot for disposal.
Rylie is back to 100% after her recent operation and loves the dog parkWe had a great day at the dog park yesterday watching Rylie play with a new friend – a little, white Westie named Findlay. They really hit it off and spent a whole 30 minutes taking turns chasing each other at full speed up, down and around the paths in the park. They were hopping over small fences and dodging trees too, it was really funny to watch how they interacted with one another. Rylie was so tired, she fell asleep in the back seat on the short drive home.
I guess these race cars were never designed to be comfortableThat was about all the excitement we had for Saturday! After we got home, we just took it easy until dinner. Paulette was busy as usual with her sewing and watching a movie on TV while I ended up watching a couple of hockey games and browsing around on my laptop.
Another one of the great Par 3 holes at the Victoria Golf Club
Since today is November 29th, it’s only a month until we head south – so, let the official countdown begin! We were going to wait until January 1st to leave, but we’ve decided to back it up a few days just to avoid any potential traffic problems on the B.C. Ferries on New Year’s Day. Besides, reading all the blogs of everyone already down in the southwest, has made us more anxious than we usually are to get going.
Just a month to go now and we’ll be heading for sun and warmth of Palm SpringsEveryday, I read the stories of Al in Arizona, and Willy in Mexico, Rod in Mesa, AZ and Jerry who lives in Benson, AZ and it just seems like we should be heading down to the sunshine as soon as possible. So, as soon as Christmas is over, and the kids have all headed back home, we’ll be packing up and heading out. It will be our first New Year’s anywhere other than here at home. So, if anyone asks us what we did on New Year’s Eve, at least we can honestly say, we went “out”!
Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting.
