Monday afternoon, our friends Gary and Sandy pulled in to the Sands RV Park with their MH for a 2 month stay here. Sandy’s sister and her husband, Robbie and Bruce, are traveling with them in their 5th wheel and their sites are just a few streets over from us. Sandy is a member of the same Sorority as Paulette so they are longtime friends. They stayed here at the Sands for a month last year too, so we’ll be seeing lots of them for the rest of our stay here.
Gary and Sandy at the entrance to the Sands RV Park ClubhouseAfter our big hike through the desert at the Thousand Palms Oasis, we decided to make today an easy day with no sightseeing excursions outside the park. I did go to Costco though, just before noon, to pick up some supplies. After I got back and had lunch, I rode up to the pool for a quick swim and dip in the Jacuzzi.
Rylie in a tug-of-war at the dog park with a dog 3 times her size!On the way back from the pool, I stopped by Gary’s site to borrow his long handled brush so I could wash our fifth wheel. I have 2 of these brushes, but somehow I forgot to pack both of them. I figured Gary would have one that’s why I didn’t bother buying another one – 3 of those brushes is 2 too many!
Nice to see our fifth-wheel all nice and clean againI figured since it was a nice day there was no time like the present to wash the 5’er. I got the hose hooked up, filled a big bucket with soapy water and before long it was all clean as a whistle again. I didn’t do it all myself though, as Paulette had a wash mitt and was giving the grungy areas a good scrubbing. We had picked up a lot of grime on the way down with all the rain and mud so it was nice to have the rig looking good again.
Another of the pictures I took at the McCallum PondAfter that, Paulette went for a long ride around the park on her bike and I managed to squeeze in an hour outside reading. I finished my Greg Isle’s book, so now I have to decide which of the books on my Sony eBook to read next. It’s sure nice to have a few choices!
The trunks of these Fan Palm trees are just huge – like Redwoods!
Just before dinner, we took Molly and Rylie for a walk and their last visit to the dog park for the day. This sure works to tire them out for the evening. Paulette has her Quilting Club day up at the clubhouse Wednesday so I’ll have to think of something to keep me busy for the day.
Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
