Getting Organized and Settled In

Paulette and I both enjoyed sleeping in yesterday morning until 7:30am.  When we got up and turned the coffee on, we looked around and thought maybe a windstorm had blown thru our living room in the night as there seemed to be stuff scattered everywhere.  So, we knew what our tasks would be for the upcoming day for sure – putting things away and getting organized.

When I finished my coffee and did a bit of computer stuff, I took Molly and Rylie down to the huge, fenced in, grassy dog park here at the Sands.  There were already 6 other small dogs there so our guys loved that and they had a good time playing for about 30 minutes  before they got all tuckered out.

When I got back, I had breakfast with Paulette and we decided we’d better get busy with a few of the jobs we had to do.  Paulette loaded up the truck with clothes to take up to the laundromat by the swimming pool, while I got busy setting up our satellite dish.  This can sometimes be a pretty frustrating experience but with the help of a $19 satellite finder from Starchoice, the connection went relatively easy and fast!

Lot’s of people taking advantage of the nice, hot weather yesterdayIMG_4394

The only problem was clumsy me tripping over the dog fence and falling flat on the gravel.  I lay there for a second just waiting for some pain to shoot thru me from one of my arms, legs or back.  But, I didn’t feel anything, except a bit stupid, and was soon back up acting as if nothing had happened.

Next up for me, was putting our new Camping World folding bike together.  It’s been a lot of years since I’ve had to put a bike together – a lot of years!  However, when I opened the box and took the bike out, I was relieved to see that most of it was already assembled.  All I had to do was install a few pieces and tighten up some nuts and bolts.

I was just finishing up with the bike when Paulette got back with all the clean laundry.  It was just past noon and I was pretty hot from working outside in the 75F weather.  I know, poor me!!  Anyway, I decided it was time for my first swim in the newly renovated pool here at the Sands.

Here’s Paulette’s new fold-up bike – all set to goIMG_4392

Paulette decided to stay at the campsite and catch up on things while I went for a swim.  The pool was beautiful and water was just perfect.  There’s something special about swimming outdoors in early January.  After swimming a few laps and floating around in the pool, I hopped into one of the 2 outdoor hot tubs for a nice relaxing soak.  The pool was pretty busy as lots of people were taking advantage of the hot weather and sunshine.

There are about 5 of these “washes” running thru the parkIMG_4387

When I got back to the 5’er, Paulette was still busy putting things away and doing some more organizing so I did a few more things myself.  Slowly, but surely, we are getting our little site setup the way we want it and the inside of the 5’er as well – it’s looking much, much better than it was this morning!

Last night, I watched the BCS Bowl Championship game on TV.  It’s nice having Starchoice as our satellite provider because we get the exact same channels and specialty programming that we have at home – nothing different at all.  So, we get all the Canadian channels from all networks coast to coast plus the east and west feeds of the US networks as well as all of the specialty programs we subscribe to(i.e. movies, sports, history etc.).

Have a great Friday, and thanks again for visiting.
