Here Comes The Sun!

When I looked out our kitchen window at 7am Saturday morning, it was blue skies for as far as I could see.  It stayed that way for the entire day – it was sure nice to see the sunshine back.  There was a lot more snow up on the San Jacinto and Bear mountains and it almost looked like someone had painted the snowline, it was so uniform.

Paulette didn’t think there would be many garage sales yesterday because of the poor weather during the week.  It was such a nice day though, we thought we’d take a drive into Palm Springs anyway.  Palm Canyon Drive, the main street of Palm Springs, was as busy as usual for a Saturday morning with the sidewalk coffee shops and cafes full of people having breakfast and enjoying the warm sunshine.

A nice little community park we found in Palm Springs while garage salingIMG_4733

We did manage to find a few garage sales so Paulette got her “fix” for the week by spending a whopping $1.50 on something – I didn’t even ask what it was.  I really enjoy these drives through the different residential areas though as some of the homes are really nice.  It seems that 2 things are mandatory – gardeners and home security firms, as signs for both are posted everywhere.

This old Palm tree sure has an interesting look trunkIMG_4740

We got back to the park just before noon and had lunch.  Afterwards, I headed down to the local RV store on Dillon Rd. to get one of our propane tanks refilled and to pick up some small light bulbs to replace a few that had burned out.  The RV store, Blair’s Station, is out in the desert in the middle of nowhere but it has a terrific inventory of parts – just about anything an RV’er might want.  The owner, Blair, is a great guy too.

Even late in the afternoon, a few golfers were still out on the park’s courseIMG_4742

After getting back, we setup our patio area outside again, the way we had it before the rain came.  It was nice to be able to sit outside in a lounger again as it sure felt like a lot more than 3 or 4 days since we were able to do that.  Around 2:30, I went up to the pool for a quick swim and a long soak in the Jacuzzi.  There were only a few people in the pool area, but the golfers were all out in force making up for lost time.

The golf course was in amazingly good condition considering all the rainfallIMG_4743

Before dinner, we took the muttzo’s back up for their last run of the day at the dog park.  It’s kind of funny there, as the same people go all the time and we know the names of all the dogs, but very few of the owners.  Everyone’s in the same boat though, and we all laugh about that.  Then again, if I threw a ball and yelled “go Paulette, fetch, get the ball”, then they’d all know her name too, right?

We got back to the RV and just took it easy for a bit before dinner and then spent another quiet evening watching TV and working on computer stuff.

Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting!
