While eastern and southeastern US states freeze in miserably cold conditions, we continue to enjoy sunny, hot weather here in the Palm Springs area. Friday was no exception with temperatures in the high 70’s and sunny all day.
The desert, Palm Springs in the trees and the San Jacinto Mtn.We’ve pretty much got our site setup the way we want it now and the inside of our RV is looking more like it should. Paulette hauled out our small vacuum cleaner and finished up the inside jobs while I tended to a few items outside that needed attention.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway goes up there – I’ll be taking that again! After taking Molly and Rylie to the dog park, and then having breakfast, I volunteered to test the new bike. As I mentioned yesterday, this is a folding bike that is fastened very securely with locking clamps. However, since I put it together, I thought I’d better be the one riding it if something was wrong and the bike started to fold up! I took a spin up to the clubhouse and back and everything worked just fine. This bike is going to come in real handy for getting back and forth from the pool area.
Big Bear Mtn. way off in the distance is a ski resortI ventured outside the RV Park yesterday morning to go to the Home Depot in Palm Springs. Somewhere between Cowichan Bay, B.C. and here, the little black knob that raises and lowers the vent on our Fantastic Fan has disappeared. We looked everywhere but couldn’t find where it fell off. Home Depot was no help as they didn’t have anything that would work either.
The red square is Sands RV Park – 10 mins. from Palm SpringsSo, I called Fantastic Fan, and were they ever fantastic! They are sending me a new black knob kit, a new arm raising kit and another item – all at absolutely no charge! Free! Our RV is 10 years old – now that’s customer service!
This is our RV site now that we’re pretty much setup
Paulette took her new bike out for a spin this afternoon and, thank goodness, the clamps held and it didn’t fold up in mid-flight. That would have been a very hard one to explain. I used the bike again to ride up to the pool after lunch and go for a swim. When I got back, it was Paulette’s turn and I stayed home with the muttzo’s. It’s no problem for us to leave them in the RV when we both go, but Paulette was busy with something else so I just went ahead for a quick swim myself.
With the dog fence enclosing the entire area, Molly & Rylie are free – sort of!The afternoon was time to relax and do nothing at all except find a nice spot in the shade, sit back in a lawn chair and read while taking a few siestas! It’s really the first time since we left home on Dec. 29th that we haven’t been either driving or out sight-seeing. I’m sure we’ll have many more afternoons just like this before it’s time to head back home.
Have a great Saturday, and thanks again for visiting!
