First, the weather report. Yes, it was another perfect day here in Desert Hot Springs with the temperature reaching 82F by mid-afternoon. We were busy running around and fixing a few things yesterday, but managed to find the time for a swim in the pool.
The long desert road driving towards Blair Station RV StoreMonday night, while I was sitting at the kitchen table, I felt the trailer shaking slightly and it carried on for a good 5 or 6 seconds. I called to Paulette asking “did you feel that shaking?” She said “Yes, but I thought it was just you moving around”! Apparently, my moving around equates to 2.9 on the Richter Scale as what we felt was indeed a trembler located in Banning, CA, just 25 miles from us. Maybe it’s time to lose some of those few extra pounds I put on over Christmas?
The panel with the cover off and the connectors pulled from the faulty switchI had to do a little RV maintenance job yesterday morning. The Range Hood panel that monitors the level of our grey and black tanks wasn’t working. It looked to me like the little rocker-switch wasn’t working – it wouldn’t stay clicked on. I got the front panel off, disconnected the 2 wires to the switch and headed for an RV store to see about getting a new one. The new switch cost $6.50 and after connecting the wires and putting the cover back in place, it was as good as new.
Everything back together and the monitor lights work againPaulette went to Monica’s, after I got back, it’s one of her favorite quilt and fabric stores. She had to get some batting or something so she can work on her new quilt at the park’s Quilt Club meeting on Wednesday. It sounds like there are about 20 quilters who meet at the North clubhouse from 10am to 4pm. She really enjoyed these club meeting days last year and is really looking forward to seeing all her quilting friends again.
The desert is very different from home, but has it’s own beautyWhile I was at the RV store today, I picked up some RV wash and a container of wax as well. Our 5’er is looking a little tawdry after driving through all that rain on the way down. So, I guess in between going to the swimming pool and sitting in the sun, I’m going to have to do a little work and try and get our 5’er looking good again.
This is the windmill farm west of our RV Park – they’ve been dead still so farThe park is really starting to fill up quickly now. Two of the spots behind us were empty until yesterday when RV’ers from B.C. and Alberta pulled in. The site to the side of us also has a couple from Airdrie, Alberta. I’m sure if I look hard enough I’ll find someone here from the US!!
The windmills are located right in the middle of the desertSo, Wednesday is going to be just me and the muttzo’s for most of the day. Maybe I’ll end up getting out the wash and wax stuff – then again, maybe not! I’ve just started a new book, The Devil’s Punchbowl, by one of my favorite authors, Greg Isles so that may just win out!
Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
