A Quiet, Sunny Sunday At The RV Park

Sunday was the best weather day we’ve had in a week –it was sunny and warm the entire day.  There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the snowline up in the mountains was already starting to climb back towards the top.  We were up at our usual time of 7am, and when I took Molly and Rylie outside, it sure was great to see and feel the morning sun.

Today’s pictures are from my earlier visit to the Palm Springs Air MuseumIMG_4408

I took a quick run down Gene Autry to the Home Depot just after 10am to pick up a small 1/4” nut I needed to repair the arm on one of our outside loungers.  That, plus emptying the tanks, were my only jobs for the day.  That was ok with me as I was all set to watch the first of 2 NFL playoff games, Colts vs Jets, starting at 12 noon.

Other than that short trip, I never left the park at all, that’s why I’m posting some of the pictures I took when I visited the Palm Springs Air Museum last week.  I’m no expert on WWII aircraft so I’m not even going to try and name these airplanes.

Paulette left for Staples, and places unknown, just after 11am.  She had to make some copies of a few quilt patterns that one of her quilting friends gave to her.  She was also going to check out a few thrift stores too, looking for more 100% wool pants, jackets or any other clothing that she can cut up and use in her quilting projects.  Paulette says this is way cheaper than buying new wool – plus, it’s a lot more fun!

I watched the first playoff game for a while, but it was so nice out, I ended up going outside to sit in the sun for a while and read.  I could still hear what was going on and if it sounded exciting, it was easy to stick my head in the door and watch the replays.

This, I do know, is a beautiful old Rolls Royce IMG_4695

The Colts turned the game into a bit of a rout in the second half, so I decided to go up to the swimming pool for a while and see what was going on.  Molly and Rylie had been to the park for a good run earlier so they were quite happy to hang out inside and have a snooze.

While I was riding the bike back from the pool, just after 3pm, Paulette was just arriving back in the park.  She said she had a great time exploring a few thrift stores and managed to pick up a few wool items she can use for quilting.

Before dinner, we took Molly and Rylie back to the dog park to visit with all their friends again.  Afterwards, we walked around the park for a bit looking at all the different RV’s and where they were from.  It’s a pretty even split between Canadians and Americans.  I’m guessing that most of the Park Model Homes are owned by Americans, but I’m not 100% sure of that either.

I ended up watching the Saints vs Vikings game last night and it was a good one.  It went into OT and, as usual, the team that won the toss to get the ball ended up winning – that was the Saints.  It’s too bad one team has to lose in OT without ever even getting their hands on the ball, but that’s just the way it is.

Have a great Monday, and thanks again for visiting!
