I had great plans for pictures for today’s blog as I was going to ride the Palms Springs Aerial Tramway to the top of Mt. Jacinto. I had my camera all ready to go, but when I got to the ticket station at the 2,600 ft. level, I found that it was going to be a 2 hr. wait. That was way too long, so I just headed back to the RV Park.
We had clear blue skies and temps in the 80’s on SaturdayI guess one of the aerial trams had a problem earlier in the morning, so everything got severely backed up. I’ll definitely give it another try as I discovered that I can buy tickets online, for a specific time, so that’s what I’m going to do next time – no waiting around, just show up and go.
The busiest place in the park on Saturday was the swimming poolSaturday was one of the best weather days we’ve had since we’ve been here – absolutely perfect with the temperature reaching into the 80’s. We were up early this morning and it was already close to 70F by 8am.
We started the day off yesterday by taking a leisurely drive, first through Palm Springs, then along Hwy. 111 all the way to Palm Desert. Why? Garage sales, of course!! It was Saturday! There were quite a few yesterday, so Paulette had a good time browsing through them all and she even managed to find a few small items that we “really needed”.
Another busy place was the golf course here at the RV ParkIt was noon before we got back to the RV Park and that’s when I left to check out the Tramway. Why didn’t Paulette come with me? One word - “chicken”!! She took one look at the tramway a few years ago and said “never, not in a million years”!! Paulette hasn’t changed her mind one bit.
Lot’s of dogs at the dog park and there’s Rylie racing aroundIt still turned out to be a great relaxing day though. After I got back from the tramway, Paulette and I went up to the pool for a swim. With the hot day, it was hard to even find a lounger to sit down as the pool area was just full. The swimming pool, oddly, wasn’t that busy so that was good.
Molly and Rylie going for a final run before heading homeLast night, we treated ourselves to Mexican food from the little restaurant we like up in Desert Hot Springs. Paulette had a Chicken Taco Salad while I opted for my usual Chicken Enchilada Combo. After dinner, we just watched the Olympic Games on TV.
Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting!
