The wind stopped, the sun was out, the skies were clear and all was well again in the desert. After 3 days of gusty winds, it was nice to get back to normal around here and to sit outside enjoying the return of almost perfect weather conditions.
When I opened the kitchen door and looked outside, this is what I saw! After doing a bit of driving over the past 2 days, I was looking forward to a nice relaxing day doing nothing at all. And, that’s pretty much what I ended up doing. My plan was helped along by the fact that Paulette and Loyce had made plans to go thrift store shopping yesterday.
Molly and Rylie got into a real wrestling match yesterdaySo, my only task was to look after Molly and Rylie. I took them to the park around 8:30am and by the time I got back at 9:30, Paulette was just on her way over to pick up Loyce to head out shopping. After I had breakfast, I found my eBook, setup a lounge chair in a nice spot outside and settled in to read for bit.
This is Rylie in full flight about to launch a “missile strike” on poor MollyI had no idea what Rod was up to just a few rows away, but I was thinking that he was probably enjoying some peace and quiet just like I was. Or, maybe he hopped on his neat little Red Scooter and took off across the desert just to kick up some sand! I never saw Rod all day, so I’ll just have to wait to read his blog tomorrow to see what he has to say.
I spent most of the afternoon outside hanging around and cleaning up a few things that had blown around during the recent windstorms. I checked the rig from front to back and everything that was supposed to be there still seemed to be there, so that was good.
Molly finally got the upper hand on Rylie in this contestWhen Paulette got home a little after 2:30pm, I was having a little siesta outside in the shade – but, I had my book handy to make it look like I was wide awake and reading. Paulette said she and Loyce had a great time and hit a bunch of thrift stores, Jo-Annes, Marshalls and a few others as well. Rod and I could be in trouble here!
Before dinner, I took a run up to Vonn’s to pick up a few items that we had run out of like milk, water, orange juice, cereal and chocolate chip cookies – all the basic necessities of life. Last night, it was another evening of watching the Olympics on TV. It was really snowing on the north shore mountains in Vancouver yesterday. It really added a nice touch to the ski cross races.
While the dogs are running around playing, we can just sit and chatAbout my cold – it’s much, much better. I’ve been loading up with cold medications and figure I’m now back to about 75% normal. Hopefully, by the weekend it’ll all be over with. At least I’m not coughing and sneezing anymore so that’s a good feeling.
Have a nice Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
