Monday was one of those picture perfect days that Palm Springs is famous for – sunny, warm and bright blue skies. There was absolutely no wind here either so that was nice. All of the pics in this blog are additional to the ones I took on my hike through Andreas Canyon on Sunday.
As usual, Paulette and I were up and around by 6:30, just as the sun was beginning to hit our outside patio. On mornings like that, it’s actually warmer outside than it is in the RV. After reading blogs, emails and other news, I took Molly and Rylie to the dog park for their morning run – it was pretty crowded due to the great weather.
After we had breakfast, Paulette took the truck and drove to the nearest Staples store to make some photocopies of Quilting patterns. It was just after 10am and I had no great plans for the day, so I just got my eBook and spent the rest of the morning outside in a lounger continuing to read historian Doris Kearns Goodwin’s biography of Abraham Lincoln - “Team of Rivals”.
By the time Paulette got back from making copies at Staples it was almost 1pm – hmmm, 3 hours just to make photocopies? Xerox machines must really have slowed down since I retired 10 years ago! Anyway, it was just about time for the Monday computer discussion group up at the clubhouse. I missed this last week so I hopped on the bike and rode up to see what was going on.
There were about 10 people there but the only real problem seemed to be with one of the clubhouse computers – it wouldn’t connect to the Internet. So, while most of the group sat around and talked about pictures and some spreadsheet questions, I had a look at the computer. It was a Dell desktop but was using an internal WiFi card and somehow it had been disabled. A couple of clicks and all was well again. With the beating these “common use” computers must take, I’m always surprised when I see one that is working!
After that was over, I stayed up at the clubhouse area and went for a quick swim – it’s amazing how the sun brings out so many people. Both the pool and the golf course were doing a booming business. That was about it for me for Monday – never left the park and loved it!
Paulette was busy as usual after she got back from Staples. While I was at the clubhouse, she took Molly and Rylie for a long walk around the park and along a few of the washes as well. Later, after I got back, she went for a ride on her bike. So, all in all, we’ve had a pretty quiet start to the week.
Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!
