You Just Never Know Who’s Reading!

I have to wonder sometimes who, apart from regular RV’ers, is actually reading our blogs?  I know that on more than one occasion, my good blogger friend Al, of The Bayfield Bunch, has received comments from all kinds of unlikely sources including National Geographic magazine.

Even though Al is becoming famous, far and wide, for his great story telling and fabulous photos, not to mention his “curmudgeonery opinions”(ha,ha), he always says he’s surprised when he receives a comment from a totally unexpected source.

I had that same surprised feeling a few days ago when I opened an email from Wm.'Bo'Yerxa of the State of Maine.  Here’s what he had to say:

“Appreciated the commentary on Cousin Cabot's legacy... There are Yerxas scattered across Canada & the U.S., all descended from Loyalist John Yerxa (Johannes Jurskee), who with his family was evacuated from the Hudson Valley in which they had lived for 150 years, and dropped at the Mouth o'Keswick on the St. John River around 1780-82.”

The commentary Wm.'Bo'Yerxa was referring to was my blog of January 21st about the Cabot Pueblo Museum in Desert Hot Springs.  It was great to hear from him and to have him add some background to the information in my blog about his cousin, Cabot.  So, my fellow bloggers, it just goes to show that no matter what we write, someone out there in blogland, who we least expect, may be reading!!  Kind of scary, isn’t it?

Thursday morning was a maintenance and resupply day for us.  While I emptied and flushed both RV tanks, Paulette took care of the laundry.  After that we made a run into Palm Desert going to Walmart, Costco and Trader Joe’s.  At least we’ll be able to eat for another few days as our refrigerator and cupboards were getting a little bit bare.

It was 1pm by the time we got back to the Sands, unloaded the truck and put away all the groceries.  It was another hot one here – 86F and sunny all day.  You know by now what that means – it was pool time!

I was sure glad to hear the Tramway has a perfect safety recordIMG_5354

Later in the afternoon, Paulette, me and the muttzo’s walked over to visit with Rod and Loyce for a bit.  They were just relaxing after a drive up to visit Idyllwild.  We made plans to visit Temecula together this Monday so Paulette and Loyce can check out the quilt shops.  We are going to leave Molly and Rylie with Toni, the dog-sitter, so they’ll really enjoy that.

Last night, after dinner, we just watched more of the Olympic Games.

Have a great Friday, and thanks again for visiting!
