Molly and Rylie had some company Tuesday as I had volunteered to look after “Sushi”, a little Sheltie while her owner Pauline took Paulette and Renee off on a shopping excursion down I-10 towards Redlands, Corona and a few other places.
Paulette with her friend Pauline, all set to leave me with the 3 dogsWe had met Sushi before, at the dog park, and we knew she was a nice, quiet dog that got along well with our muttzo’s. Pauline came by just before 9am, dropped off Sushi, and then her and Paulette were off to pick up Renee and head off on their big shopping trip.
This is Sushi – our guest for the day and she was a very good dogI got the 3 dogs leashed and started off to the dog park wondering if handling 3 dogs would really be any different than 2. It wasn’t really, as Sushi and Molly are both pretty quiet and seem to stay around the adults. The only one I had to keep a close eye on was Rylie who has taken to jumping up on top of the picnic tables recently so she can get a better look at what’s going on.
I took Molly, Rylie and Sushi for a few walks in the ‘dry washes’ in the parkI spent a good hour at the park and then brought all 3 dogs back to our site thinking that they’d be tired and might sleep for a while. They didn’t seem interested in that and just wandered around for a bit. Gary popped over for a visit about 10:30am. He was looking to get his hair cut and wanted to know where I had gone in Desert Hot Springs. I should be getting a discount at Quick Cuts – first Rod, and now Gary have gone their for haircuts!
This is ‘Amigo’ – one of Molly and Rylie’s best friends!Around 1pm, the dogs were getting a little restless, so I took them for a walk up and down a few of the washes here in the RV park. Then, it was back home to sit outside and relax again. If this is the life of a dog, it isn’t all that bad – when the weather’s as nice as this anyway.
It was getting close to 3pm and still no sign of the shoppers, so I headed off to the park with the dogs for their last run of the day. I was there for about 30 minutes when all the shoppers finally showed up. Sushi was very happy to see her owner and scrambled off with her to their car. Paulette and I stayed in the park for about another half hour before heading back.
Rylie thinks dog-sitting another dog is very, very tiring! After dinner last night, Renee dropped over for a visit to get some help from Paulette on getting started with quilting – looks like we may have another convert here! Renee stayed for a couple of hours and we had a very nice visit. Her husband, Peter, was up at the clubhouse playing crib, which he is very good at, for the evening.
After Renee left, we just watched TV for a while and then called it a night as I was “dog-tired”.
Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!
