Apache Junction, Arizona - Day 2

It was hot today - 27C! We're getting very used to waking up to perfect Arizona weather days. It's easy to see why so many people spend their winters here as the days are near perfect and at night it cools right down to about 8C so it's very comfortable with the vents or windows open.

Paulette went to the Superstition Springs Mall today. It's a two story mall with the main tenants being Macy's, Dillards, Mervyns, JC Penney and Sears. She spent about 3 hours there looking around and ended up buying a couple of tops to wear down here. We drove around Mesa a bit and toured through a couple of the larger RV parks to see what they were like but most of them are park model places and seem more like sub-divisions than RV Parks. We're still glad we decided to stay in the small KOA as it's really nice and we are able to walk everywhere easily.

This afternoon was just spent relaxing in the sun(and shade!) with the occasional trip to the pool/hot tub to cool off a bit. Both Paulette and I are really getting a lot of reading done as it is perfect sitting outside in our recliners.



We're thinking now that we might head over to Desert Hot Springs in California at the end of this week. We had planned to go up to the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona this weekend but it is still pretty cold up there - between 25F - 55F at last look. That's a bit cool compared to what we've become used to so we might head up there later depending on how the weather is.

No plans for tomorrow yet, but there's a Target store etc. quite near here so we'll probably check that out and then come back to the RV park to spend the afternoon outside in the sun - the temp is forecast to be in the low 80's again tomorrow.
